Instant Cities
The October 2011 issue of Departures magazine features Songdo International Business District in the lead article, "Instant Cities," written by Greg Lindsay. The feature describes the design inspiration behind Songdo as well as Stan Gale's ideas for instant cities for the future.
Songdo is portrayed as, "The most ambitious instant city or all," as a melting pot of the best elements of different cities around the globe. The article continues by expressing how popular Songdo is among Koreans and is hailed as, "One of the world's greenest, most energy- efficient cities," with a description of different state-of- the- art technologies found within the city.
Departures has a circulation of 1.1 million with a readership exceeding five million.
