Doo-yun Hwang

Minister Doo-yun Hwang is an expert on economic, trade and industrial issues, having held numerous positions in governmental ministries of the Republic of Korea as well as independent organizations over the course of the last 30 years.

His titles within the Ministry of Trade and Industry include Chief of Metal Division; Chief of Industrial Policy Division; Chief of Trade Policy Division; Director General, Commerce and Trade Bureau; and Director General, Small and Medium Business Bureau.

He has also served as Minister for Trade for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (2001-2004).

He is a Managing Director of the Korea International Trade Association and President of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).

He serves as a Director of The Korea Herald · Naeway Economic Daily Inc. and as a Non-standing Director for the Agricultural and Fishery Marketing Corporation.

Minister Hwang is a graduate of the College of Law, Chonbuk National University (LL.B., 1964); the Arthur D. Little School of Management (MBA, 1971); and the Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Seoul National University (MS in Urban Planning, 1974). Minister Doo-yun Hwang currently is Of Counsel to the international law firm Bae, Kim & Lee headquartered in Seoul.
