Central Park and Amenities
Songdo International City’s Central Park will be a green oasis in the midst of Korea’s first international city, comprising over 10% of the total acreage. Its beautifully designed environment will provide a haven from the urban density and provide unparalleled recreational and educational opportunities.
Central Park Construction as of October 2008
The Songdo International Museum, located in the park, will establish, preserve and document a permanent art collection. It will educate the residents and visitors of Songdo and provide a retreat for all.
An ecotarium in the park promises to stimulate interest in, develop knowledge about, and inspire stewardship of aquatic environments.
Stroll across scenic footbridges and walking paths. The native sculpture and art will delight the eye. A seawater canal, powered by wind turbines and refreshed every 24 hours, will grace the landscape. A water taxi provides a leisurely cruise around the park or transportation to the Government Center.
In contrast, areas of man-made design will weave through the park and provide links to the cultural center, government center, museum, ecotarium and the commercial heart of the city.
