Songdo’s Cultural Center establishes a premier cultural program for its residents and visitors.

 

The center will sit on the very point where Songdo International City meets the Western Sea. The building itself will be an icon that advances into the water and provides a strong image for the city as seen from the Yellow Sea or from arrival points to Incheon International Airport.

 

The center’s design is structured as a double ramp that interlocks around two crystal-like edifices that face each other – an opera house and a concert hall. The ramp will actually disappear into the water at the site of a thematic museum. This building will mark the historical point of the Incheon Landing that ended the Korean War in 1953.
