Pictured here are some of the thousands of Incheon Residents who gathered for the Grand Opening. Over 2,400 units were sold out in less than one week.

Members of the Incheon City Council joined Gale International Korea and POSCO E&C Executives in opening the New Songdo City Marketing Center on May 9, 2005.  The Marketing Center consists of 3 floors and nearly 100,000 square feet of exhibition space, with over 1,150 tons of steel used in its construction.  Located in Incheon at the New Songdo City site, the Center allows the public to gain an understanding of the many different facets that will be part of New Songdo City.

The design was gathered from Korean traditional precedents, altered to create a contemporary feel using non-traditional materials.  The exterior facade, for example, was derived from the traditional stone walls, paving and brilliant colors built into and around Korean palaces and temples.

The Marketing Center's design by KPF also mimics the larger plan for New Songdo City, utilizing natural colors and allowing for natural sunlight to flow into the building.
